January of this year marked my 19th year in the marine industry. Before boats, I worked on everything from cars to tractors, forklifts and electronics. I also worked in the auto body business and even became a pretty good bartender at that time. I first started out in the boat industry with our Service Manager, Harvey, because the idea seemed fun and I was curious by nature. As it turned out it was fun and I learned it very quickly. I left the boating industry for a brief period in 1997 to build and repair laboratory equipment at the request of a family member. It wasn't long before I found myself missing the boats, and besides, that sit-down job was hurting my back and making me fat. I returned to boats in 2000 and have never looked back. I have been with Valley Marine for 7 years and it has been a wonderful place to work- truly a family. I am trained and certified in Indmar, Mercury, Mercruiser, Johnson, Evinrude, Cobalt and Malibu Boats, as well as fiberglass and gel coat repair.
